American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a PA or compact RN license and prior community hospital telemetry experience.

• hospital Med/Surg Tele unit
• Cares for cardiac telemetry, respiratory, neurological, genitourinary, and gastrointestinal patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses Epic charting system
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend required
• No floating required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No holiday coverage required

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in specialty required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Skilled in chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA
• Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with pacemakers, post cardiac catheterization, and post-MI care
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care to a diverse Med/Surg Tele population including cardiac, respiratory, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal patients
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No block scheduling accommodated
• RTO must be finalized prior to consideration, as additional time off cannot be accommodated after submission
• PA fingerprinting required and must be completed within one week of contract signing, with travel of over 100 miles possibly required
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted at a differential rate
