Are you a Critical Care, Intensive Care Advanced Practice Provider seeking a dynamic and rewarding telemedicine opportunity? Penn Medicine’s Elert® program invites you to join our onsite team as a telemedicine APP at the Penn Rittenhouse campus in Center City Philadelphia. This unique rotating shift (60/40 days/nights) places you in the heart of our state-of-the-art command center, where you will virtually monitor and consult on patient care across all Critical Care beds within the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
As a telemedicine APP, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary group of expert colleagues, including bedside attendings and fellow intensivists, delivering advanced clinical support to (26) Critical Care units spanning seven hospitals. Your clinical expertise will help manage variations in care, uphold system-wide clinical excellence, and ensure superior outcomes for patients in neuro, trauma, surgical, medical, cardiovascular, and other critical care, intensive care units.
This role offers an exceptional platform for professional growth, especially for experienced Advanced Practice Providers. You’ll advance wide range of clinical expertise while sharpening healthcare administration and leadership skills by guiding care throughout the health system and actively participating in quality improvement initiatives. Penn Elert empowers Advanced Practice Providers to leverage cutting-edge technology, trended data analysis, and collaborative teamwork to address evolving patient needs, avert clinical deteriorations, and foster innovation in critical care delivery.
Responsibilities:- Provides direct clinical care for patient population according to established protocols and utilizes evidence-based practice standards in collaboration with team.
- Maintains accurate and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with organizational standards in the electronic health record (EHR). Identifies self properly to the patient and family and clarifies the role of the nurse practitioner if necessary.
- The nurse practitioner should function within their scope and refer to the collaborating physician when outside of scope, and/or directed by the collaborating physician or when requested by the patient and/or family.
- Performs interventions specific to assigned patient population and collaborative agreement.
- Participates in the performance improvement processes to meet quality of care and service standards.
- Demonstrates awareness of professional responsibility as role model to peers and members of the health care team.
- Perform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based upon patient’s clinical status.
- Addresses patient and family concerns and creates a therapeutic relationship to provide support.
- Provide patient education, counseling and instruction regarding patient diagnosis, medical treatments, medications, and preventative care.
- Participate in and support accreditation, compliance and regulatory activities of the organization.
- Precept NP students and other health care learners.
- Identifies patient/family needs for community resources and refers appropriately.
Experience:
- Master of Science (Required)
- CRNP:
Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice(DNP) in Nursing required with 3 years of experience - PA-C:
Master's Degree requires 3 years of experience. - The APP must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board. National Board Certification required.
- BLS/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association (For providers in the ambulatory setting) required
- PA and/or NJ CRNP licensure (CRNP) required.
- PA and/or NJ Prescriptive Authority required.
- PA and/or NJ RN licensure (RN) required.
