Position: Research Specialist A

Research Specialist A

This is a position for Research Specialist, Level A, with a purpose to investigate the pathogenic mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders using mouse as a model organism. The primary function of this position includes functional characterization of genetically modified mice carrying disease-related mutations using molecular, cellular, imaging and genomic approaches, such as immunohistochemistry, genomic profiling and confocal microscopy. Other duties include breeding, genotyping and management of mouse colonies.

Position contingent upon funding

Job Responsibilities

  • Functional characterization of genetically modified mice using molecular, cellular and genomic approaches
  • Functional characterization of genetically modified mice using confocal imaging approaches
  • Breeding, genotyping and management of mouse colonies
  • Other general lab duties

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
