Job Description SummaryThe Statistical Analyst A position will support health policy‑related research projects conducted by investigators at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine. The position will use SAS and/or STATA programming skills to create analytical datasets from health care claims, administrative databases, clinical trials, and surveys to construct and standardize outcome measures and other analytical variables, provide descriptive and analytical reports, and perform specialized statistical analyses.
Duties- Support health policy‑related research projects conducted by investigators in LDI and the Division of General Internal Medicine.
- Use standard SAS and/or STATA programming skills to create analytical datasets from clinical trials, surveys, and health care claims, construct and standardize outcome measures, and perform data cleaning and manipulation.
- Provide descriptive and analytical reports and perform specialized statistical analyses.
- For Statistical Analyst B: implement non‑routine macros and advanced techniques to merge different datasets and create analysis files from complex databases; utilize advanced statistical methods to analyze the data.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills to support multiple projects led by individual investigators.
- Statistical Analyst A:
Bachelor’s degree in Math/Statistics, Healthcare Management, Economics or Public Health and a minimum of 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Statistical Analyst B:
Master’s degree in Math/Statistics, Healthcare Management, Economics or Public Health and at least 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience in applying health services research methods through SAS or STATA programming is required; expert level programming is required for
B. - Prior work experience in an academic or research setting in health care is preferred; prior experience with analyzing clinical trials is preferred.
