Assistant Professor, Research Track, Department of Neurology

The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of of neural basis of olfactory processing in the human brain. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. Expertise and demonstrated experience in combining intracranial EEG, direct electrical stimulation and single neuron recordings with odor tasks in human subjects is required.

The Successful Candidate will have proficiency in neural data analysis, breathing recordings and analysis. The Candidate with an understanding of the literature on human odor perception, and neural circuits underlying odor information processing is highly desirable.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include conducting independent and collaborative research using advanced invasive intracranial recording approaches to examine the neural basis of odor coding in the human olfactory system as well as training lab personnel and obtaining extramural funding. A strong record of original peer-reviewed publications, mentoring, communication and interpersonal skills is also required.
