Postdoctoral Fellow Position

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kavitha Sarma. The Sarma lab investigates mechanisms of gene regulation through RNA-containing chromatin using neurodifferentiation and cancer models. Candidates with strong interest in gene regulation, chromatin architecture, epigenetic mechanisms, and non-coding RNA biology are encouraged to apply. Experience in performing and analyzing data from genomic experiments such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN is required.

Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) degree and must have at least one first author peer reviewed publication. Interested individuals should apply by submitting:

  • A CV including a list of publications and manuscripts in preparation.
  • One-page cover letter detailing the reason for their scientific interest in the lab, and outline potential postdoctoral research projects, and career goals.
  • Names and contact information for at least 3 references to ksarma.

The lab is a core member of the Penn Epigenetics Institute which allows interactions and collaborations with many scientists with shared research interests.
