Research Specialist A/B
The Vahedi Lab at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated Research Specialist A or B to join our multidisciplinary team. Our lab integrates cutting-edge experimental and computational approaches to uncover the molecular mechanisms that govern cell fate determination in the immune system.
Responsibilities:
- The Research Specialist A will contribute to all aspects of ongoing projects, with responsibilities including day-to-day laboratory operations, purchasing/ordering, and processing human pancreas tissue for the Human Pancreas Analysis Program (HPAP). Additional duties include maintaining cell lines, performing primary cell culture, flow cytometry staining, and managing a small mouse colony in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. This position offers opportunities for independent research projects, as well as training in next-generation sequencing and computational biology.
- Research Specialist B:
Will undertake the duties outlined for the A level and also work on research projects utilizing RNA/DNA FISH and/or next-generation sequencing (NGS).
Qualifications:
- Required:
RS-A
- Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. RS-B
- Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters degree preferred.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
