Job Description Summary
Research Specialist A
Conducts routine experiments and research activities to support project objectives, working under close supervision. Contributes to data collection, experiments, or studies; prepares materials and maintains research tools or resources. Helps manage project documentation and processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of deliverables.
Research Specialist B
Supports research projects by conducting experiments or studies, collecting and analyzing data, and maintaining research tools, equipment, or project resources. Contributes to study design, documentation, and reporting, and collaborates with investigators and staff to ensure projects are carried out effectively and in compliance with established protocols.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities - Res Spec A
+ Drive a research project (collect, analyze and interpret data, and present data at group meetings)
+ Help in the general running of the lab, including: ordering, receiving items, and maintaining lab organization
+ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Responsibilities - Res Spec B
+ Conduct laboratory research, troubleshoot problems, analyze data, design new research experiments along with research publications, and prepare presentations.
+ Participate in lab management and help support lab set up and operations, oversee ordering, organization and maintenance of reagents, equipment, and protocols.
+ Train and supervise other lab members as needed, provide scientific and technical expertise and guidance for other ongoing projects
+ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications - Res Spec A
+ Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Qualifications - Res Spec B
+ Bachelor of Science an d 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
This position is contingent upon grant funding.

$45,278.00 - $65,000.00 Annual Rate
Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
