Job Description Summary

We are a hiring a Research Specialist to support our autoimmunity work in the Wherry Lab. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and performing flow cytometry, ELISA assays, tissue histology, and RNA sequencing on both mouse tissues and human samples. Supplementary work will also include mouse colony organization, molecular biology plasmid construction, human sample organization, and data analysis. The candidate will work closely with a senior lab member in the Wherry lab.

Ability to follow established standard procedures, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability and eagerness to work in a team setting is required.

This position is contingent upon funding.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

+ Flow cytometry, ELISAs, RNA sequencing, mouse husbandry and tissue harvesting, human blood processing, molecular biology plasmid construction, and data analysis

Qualifications

+ Bachelor of Science in biology, biochemistry, or related field and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

+ Laboratory experience with basic techniques is required as is attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
