Clinical Research Coordinator C (OBGYN - Pregnancy and Perinatal Research Center)

Serves as a senior clinical research coordinator and resource best practices in the management of complex longitudinal cohort study within the Penn Pregnancy & Perinatal Research Center. Works independently with minimal supervision to oversee implementation of study protocols, support regulatory compliance, ensure data quality, and coordinate research activities across clinical, laboratory, community, and consortium partners. Provides guidance and training to research staff and serves as a subject matter expert for ECHO study procedures and requirements.

Job Responsibilities

The primary role of the Clinical Research Coordinator C is the organization, coordination, and implementation of research studies for the Penn Pregnancy & Perinatal Research Center. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a senior clinical research coordinator for the NIH Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program, independently managing complex protocol activities and participant follow-up with minimal supervision.
  • Monitor participant retention, study adherence, and protocol compliance, implementing strategies to support engagement and minimize loss to follow-up.
  • Serve as the ECHO Cohort Site Trainer, onboarding, training, and mentoring research staff while ensuring standardized implementation of study procedures and consortium requirements across the research team.
  • Serve as a resource for study personnel regarding protocol implementation, data collection procedures, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), human subjects research protections, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead quality assurance and quality control activities, including source document review, data verification, resolution of complex data queries, and identification of protocol compliance issues.
  • Maintain and review study documentation and regulatory records to ensure compliance with IRB, NIH, institutional, and sponsor requirements and readiness for monitoring visits and audits.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for ECHO protocols, biospecimen collection and processing procedures, study data systems, and consortium requirements.
  • Collaborate with investigators, project management, and consortium partners to address operational challenges, implement protocol updates, and support successful study execution.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of study workflows, training materials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to promote consistency, efficiency, and compliance across study activities.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Position requires a highly motivated, articulate individual with excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate should possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong planning, organizational and prioritizing capabilities along with problem solving skills desired.

Clinical Research Coordinator C: BS degree and 4-6 years related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must be able to work flexible hours.

$63,085.00 - $67,046.00 Annual Rate

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
