The department of Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism & Bioanalytics (PDMB) is seeking a Senior Scientist for its Translational PK/PD organization. The role designs and executes analyses, guiding drug discovery strategy focused on biologics, protein therapeutics, and peptides.

The Translational PK/PD Senior Scientist will:
  • Serve as PK/PD modeler in cross-functional teams to make model-informed decisions about drug discovery, modality selection, and dose prediction.
  • Integrate in vitro and in vivo data to build PKPD, PBPK, QSP, or other mechanistic modeling platforms for drug disposition and pharmacology.
  • Collaborate with PDMB and Discovery/Translational teams to design experimental studies and modeling plans to identify and optimize drug candidates.
  • Collaborate on automated workflows for implementing modeling platforms to inform human PK/PD and dose projections.
  • With guidance, build expertise and leadership in translational modeling and drug discovery; demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s (3+ years), PharmD (1 year), or Ph.D. in pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, mathematics, applied mathematics, systems biology, computational biology, chemical/biomedical engineering, statistics/biostatistics or related field, with increasing responsibility/independence.
Required experience/skills:
  • Hands-on translational PKPD modeling using Matlab, OSP Suite, Monolix, or R.
  • Experimental design, mathematical problem solving, and critical data analysis/interpretation and/or statistics.
Preferred experience/skills:
  • Modeling experience informing discovery/development of biologics/protein therapeutics/peptides.
  • Interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Expertise developing novel PKPD, PBPK, QSP, or related mechanistic approaches.
Skills:

Biostatistics, data analysis, data modeling, data science, drug discovery process, interdisciplinary collaboration, MATLAB, pharmacodynamics/pharmacokinetics, PKPD modeling, statistical analysis.
