Assistant Manager C

The Assistant Manager C will coordinate a portfolio of research projects for the Hayes lab. This role will lead technical and logistical coordination for active research projects. Oversees data collection processes, project workflows, and experimental execution while collaborating with researchers to ensure research quality and reproducibility.

The Assistant Manager C will work with lab leadership to develop organizational plans, establish deadlines, and implement key activities. The position will encompass both strategic planning and day-to-day management of complex and broad range of projects conducted with collaborators both internal and external to university. They will independently plan and conduct experiments on the neural and physiological basis of energy balance dysregulation and obesity in animal and cellular models.

The position will involve management of the research team performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned area including the supervision of departmental employees. Provide advice and guidance to faculty and senior lab staff, and management of all preclinical sponsored contracts with pharmaceutical industry, to include the oversight and development of data acquisition
  • Collaborates with the administrative team on strategy development for all operational activities and ensures that appropriate strategies are aligned with institutional objectives. Develop best practices, methods, techniques, and operational standards for clinical research across the enterprise
  • Ensure streamlined and standardized processes, eliminate redundancies and ensure sound financial stewardship of space, equipment and expenditures. Partner with research finance team and administration to manage clinical research budget/s.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships. Act as a liaison between key stakeholder e.g., commercial partners, alumni, industry and legislators. Direct communication of priorities to ensure execution of goals and milestones through regular meetings, status updates, and other written communications
  • Operationalize and oversee the data collection, archival and reporting of clinical trials metrics. Establish data collection methodologies, data validation, and the implementation of reporting technologies. Oversee internal audits to ensure adherence to quality standards, operational best practices, and to identify potential risks
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree preferred.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
