Job summary
Boston Gene is seeking a highly motivated Director, Biopharma Sales to drive growth across pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations in North America.
This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic customer relationships, and expanding adoption of Boston Gene's platform and services.
This is a consultative sales role requiring the ability to engage scientific and executive stakeholders in meaningful discussions around precision medicine, translational research, biomarkers, and clinical development. Success in this role requires someone who can listen, learn quickly, build trust, and create value for customers facing complex development challenges.
Responsibilities- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, Biomarker Strategy, Precision Medicine, Medical Affairs, Computational Biology, and Executive Leadership functions.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer objectives, clinical development programs, and scientific challenges to position Boston Gene solutions effectively.
- Lead complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, technical evaluations, proposal development, contract negotiations, and executive presentations.
- Collaborate closely with Scientific, Medical, Product, and Delivery teams to develop customer-focused solutions and ensure successful project execution.
- Represent Boston Gene at industry conferences, scientific meetings, and customer events.
- Maintain a strong understanding of oncology drug development trends, precision medicine, biomarker strategies, and the competitive landscape.
- Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support product development and commercial strategy.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Immunology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- 7+ years of successful sales, business development, or account growth experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, CRO, precision medicine, or oncology-focused organizations.
- Demonstrated success in developing new business opportunities and managing complex consultative sales cycles.
- Working knowledge of oncology drug development, clinical trials, translational medicine, biomarkers, or precision medicine.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage both scientific and executive stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex scientific concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support customer meetings, conferences, and business development activities.
