Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Physics invites applications for a Research Physicist specializing in experimental particle physics. The successful candidate will contribute to CMS searches at the LHC and to the CMS HGCAL upgrade, with opportunities to engage in the LDMX project at SLAC.
Applicants with expertise in machine learning for particle physics are strongly preferred; the initial appointment is for one year starting in August 2026, with possible extensions.
