Security Guard

What We Are Looking For

Primary purpose:

* This position is responsible for providing the facility with physical and personal security

Essential duties and responsibilities:

* Accounting for all people entering the facility

* Roving patrol to ensure security of the facility

* Monitoring marine radio for interfacing with ships entering the port

* Performing safety orientation for visitors/3rd parties

* Possess and maintain a valid driver's license

What You Will Do

Minimum requirements:

Education:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Honorable discharge from the military

* 3 years of security experience

Experience / specific knowledge:

* The ability to work from written and verbal instructions

* Positively interact with customers and respond to customer inquiries

* Able to work with a team and adhere to required work schedules

* Attention to detail

* 1 year of physical security experience

* Overtime may be required

* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)

* Use internet for information gathering

* Flexible schedule to work required shifts (24-hour operation)

* Maintain professional composure other duties as assigned

Certifications, licenses, registrations:

* None

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

* High level of attention to detail

* Self-motivated with ability to complete projects with minimum direction

* Team player

Physical demands:

* Must be capable of occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25lbs

Working conditions:

* Must be capable of sitting /standing for extended periods of time

* Must have manual/metal dexterity to operate telephones, 2-way radios, calculators and computers

* Subject to background check

* Subject to random drug testing

Supervisory responsibility:

* None

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

* Military police experience preferred

Other responsibilities:

* Other duties as assigned
