This position supports a safe, well‑managed Community Corrections Center by monitoring reentrants and maintaining daily operations. The work ensures that the center remains secure, orderly, and ready to help individuals return to the community. As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will perform the following duties:

• Safety Oversight: Monitor reentrant behavior, maintain logs, and conduct searches to support a secure environment
• Orientation Support: Guide new reentrants through center rules, services, room assignments, and required checks
• Substance Testing: Administer and document breathalyzer and urinalysis tests when individuals return to the center
• Public Interaction: Provide information to visitors and respond to concerns with professionalism and sensitivity
• Agency Coordination: Serve as a contact for law enforcement and participate in legal proceedings as needed
• Facility Readiness: Inspect living and common areas to maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance

• Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
• Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,081.00 (before taxes).

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to work in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
• This position requires shift work. You must be willing and able to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. Examples of qualifying experience include, but are not limited to, public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience.
• One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. Examples of qualifying work experience include, but are not limited to, performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the military.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
