We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This role is responsible for installation and testing of various equipment, distribution apparatus, switches, relays, and breaker panels. Our Journeyman Electrician must be able to work independently or as part of a team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly, hazardous, or unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and floors.
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
  • Pulls wiring through conduit.
  • Splices wire and connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus.
  • Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
  • Traces out short circuits in wiring.
  • Tests continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments (voltmeter, ohmmeter, continuity buzzer).
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and analyzes need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
  • Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
  • Operates within a safe environment and reports issues.
  • Provides and operates hand tools on jobsite.
  • Safely operates power tools.
  • Provides daily reports as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid PA driver’s license
  • Strong knowledge of codes and safety requirements
  • Ethical conduct
  • Proven reliability and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to operate on location at a dynamic worksite
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for up to eight hours
  • Must be able to lift 50-120lbs frequently
  • Must be able to walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, hold/grasp, balance, and squat
  • Capable of overhead work and reaching
  • Pull/push up to 50lbs
