Fabricator/Carpenter
Sparks is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Fabricator/Carpenter to join our Philadelphia production facility. In this role, you will build custom exhibit and event components using a variety of materials, including wood, laminate, acrylic, solid surface, PVC, and metal substrates. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, can interpret technical drawings, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment serving corporate clients in the trade show and live events industry.
This position will support our Sparks team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Philadelphia, PA.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFabrication & Construction
- Cut, shape, assemble, and finish materials using hand and power tools.
- Fabricate custom exhibit and display components to meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Work with wood, laminates, acrylics, solid surfaces, PVC, and metal materials.
Blueprint Interpretation
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, sketches, and other technical documents.
Installation
- Assemble and install custom fixtures, cabinetry, frames, and structural components.
- Participate in onsite installations as needed.
Safety & Shop Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and established shop procedures.
- Properly use and maintain tools and equipment.
Schedule Flexibility
- Work overtime as needed to support production schedules and meet critical project deadlines.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience as a carpenter, fabricator, cabinet maker, or related trade professional.
- Experience in custom fabrication, exhibit construction, cabinetry, or millwork is preferred.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or vocational training program is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficient with woodworking and metalworking equipment, including saws, routers, drill presses, sanders, and associated shop tools.
- Skilled in the use of measuring and layout tools such as tape measures, levels, and framing squares.
