Position: Electrical Technician (Automotive)

Commissioning Technician

We are seeking a Commissioning Technician to perform installation verification, field modifications, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of rail vehicles and complex electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical expertise, can interpret engineering documentation, and works independently to ensure systems meet performance, quality, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field modifications, retrofits, upgrades, testing, and commissioning of rail vehicle systems.
  • Troubleshoot 24

    VDC–480

    VAC electrical systems, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Verify installations, conduct system testing, inspections, and operational validation.
  • Perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and document commissioning results.
  • Support startup, warranty, and field service activities while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting 24

    VDC to 480

    VAC electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and other electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering change documentation.
  • Experience performing field modifications, commissioning, and system validation.
  • Familiarity with CAN communication networks, PLC controls, vehicle control systems, and software-assisted diagnostics is preferred.
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment with excellent problem-solving, documentation, and safety compliance skills.
