Anti Human Trafficking Community Engagement Specialist

The Salvation Army is hiring for an Anti Human Trafficking Community Engagement Specialist with Philadelphia Social Service Ministries - New Day. The position is available immediately and is part-time, Monday-Wednesday from 9:00am-5:00pm, and Thursday from 5:00pm – 9:00pm. The specialist reports to the Drop-in Center and Outreach Services Program Manager and is paid $17.00- $19.00/hr; 74 Non-Exempt.

Responsibilities

The Anti-Human Trafficking Community Engagement Specialist will work with the Salvation Army's New Day Drop-in to ensure onsite duties are completed during hours of operation. The specialist will assist in the daily functioning of the Drop-in Center, coordinate access to resources for all women entering the center, provide ongoing crisis intervention and leadership during the hours of operation, and participate in street outreach efforts.

This is a grant funded position.

The role of the Community Engagement Specialist will be to coordinate services and access to resources for all drop-in center participants. The specialist is responsible for all daily operations of the drop-in center, ensuring that services provided are culturally sensitive and trauma-informed. The CES will conduct initial screening and intake of newly identified victims of human trafficking and provide information and referral services to those entering the drop-in center.

The CES will also conduct street outreach to individuals experiencing street-based prostitution and trafficking.

Qualifications

Requirements include a certified peer specialist or certified recovery specialist certification preferred, a high school diploma or GED, two years of relevant work experience, experience with trauma informed care preferably a working knowledge of Sanctuary Model for Trauma informed services, an understanding of domestic and foreign human trafficking and prostitution, a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, bilingual in Spanish preferred, and clearance and background checks as required by Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law.

Must support the Mission of The Salvation Army. This position is contingent on grant funding.
