Capital Area Head Start is seeking a Social Services Coordinator to join our mission of making a difference in the lives of children, empowering parents, and strengthening families.
The Social Services Coordinator is responsible and accountable for the overall implementation and coordination of family service supports for families. This role works closely with Family Services staff to implement family-centered programs, support attendance initiatives, facilitate the Family Partnership Agreement process, and provide crisis intervention and emergency assistance when needed.
The Social Services Coordinator also serves as a key resource for child abuse prevention, delivering training, supporting mandatory reporting requirements, and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
Social Service Coordinators work 10 months out of the year and enjoy summers off while earning a minimum of $25.42 per hour. Schedules are based on the school year and include 1650 work hours. ** Qualifications
* ** Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, master’s degree preferred
* Bachelor’s degree in any field with an equivalent combination of experience and/or training providing the required skills and competencies may be considered
* Significant experience and knowledge in understanding and supporting at risk families to access community systems and programs, providing emergency and crisis intervention and advocacy
* Supervisory experience preferred
* Ability to communicate orally and in writing and to read, interpret and apply written information
* Ability to learn and apply intermediate computer skills, including the use of software and other web-based systems
* Ability to pass required background checks and clearances
* Valid driver’s license and access to properly insured vehicle
* Participation in Head Start or Early Head Start preferred
* Bi/Multilingual preferred
