Resident Advisor

The Residential Advisor (RA) is responsible for the safety and welfare of shelter residents through the administration of house rules pertaining to resident conduct, fire safety, room conditions, and curfew restrictions. The RA is to communicate and support all residents in a trauma informed manner. The RA is to effectively communicate with the house manager, other resident advisors, and perform other duties as assigned.

The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the candidate will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to read, write and speak well in English
• Must have computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel Programs and be proficient in and the ability to utilize the internet.
• Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
