Position: County Intellectual Disabilities Specialist 2, SCO Director (Local Government)

THE POSITION As a County Intellectual Disabilities Specialist 2, Supports Coordination Organization (SCO) Director, you will play a key role in supporting essential programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This position allows you to build strong connections with families, providers, and coworkers while improving local services. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the coordination, review, and improvement of intellectual disabilities programs across residential and community settings. Its work ensures that staff, providers, and families receive the guidance they need to deliver high-quality services. As the SCO Director, you will perform the following duties:

  • Program Oversight:
    Guide daily activities of the Supports Coordination Organization and ensure all functions operate smoothly
  • Staff Leadership:
    Supervise assigned staff and support their development and performance
  • Provider Support:
    Assist providers by addressing concerns, reviewing performance, and supporting corrective action plans
  • Quality Review:
    Conduct monitoring activities, analyze findings, and act on results to improve program operations
  • Documentation Management:
    Maintain organized records in both paper charts and electronic systems
  • Community Coordination:
    Collaborate with administrators, teams, and agencies to support shared initiatives and resolve issues
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours:

    Monday
    - Thursday or, Tuesday
    - Friday, 8.75 hour work day with a 30-minute lunch, or Monday
    - Friday, 7 hour work day with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:
    Work is primarily done at the office . You will not have the option to regularly telework in this position.
  • Salary:

    In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
  • One year as a County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1;or
  • Three years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelors degree;or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cameron or Elk County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cameron or Elk County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
