Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Inclusion Officer to join their team in East London . This role is dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the community and supporting marginalized groups to participate fully in society. You will develop and implement initiatives that address barriers to inclusion, advocate for vulnerable populations, and foster a sense of belonging for all residents.
Working collaboratively with local government, NGOs, and community groups, you will be instrumental in creating a more equitable and supportive environment in the Eastern Cape .
- Develop and implement strategies and programs to promote social inclusion for diverse groups.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify barriers faced by marginalized communities.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of vulnerable populations to relevant stakeholders.
- Organize awareness campaigns and workshops on diversity, equality, and inclusion.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and service providers.
- Monitor the effectiveness of inclusion initiatives and report on progress and outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in social work, community development, or advocacy roles focused on inclusion.
- Strong understanding of issues related to poverty, discrimination, and social exclusion in South Africa.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the social and cultural context of East London and the Eastern Cape is essential.
