DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position supports daily hospital operations by transporting consumers and maintaining grounds with a range of equipment. As an Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties:
- Vehicle Operation:
Operate buses, trucks, vans, tractors, and other vehicles with attention to safety and efficiency - Grounds Maintenance:
Maintain campus grounds using mowers and other equipment to keep areas safe and attractive - Material Transport:
Move consumers, employees, supplies, food, and equipment both on and off campus - Safety Compliance:
Complete inspections and safety checks in accordance with DOT regulations - Equipment Care:
Perform cleaning, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on assigned vehicles and machines - Snow Removal:
Operate plows, blowers, and deicing equipment to clear snow and ice during winter conditions

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Weekend shifts are required every third or fourth weekend.
- Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime as needed and subject to emergency call-in.

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. - Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training
- You must have possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
- This position requires the selected candidate to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) within the probationary period, in order to meet operational needs.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination .
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
