Inventory Assistant

Samuels Seafood Company, the premier distributor of fresh and frozen seafood in the U.S., is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inventory Assistant to join our fast-paced and dynamic team.

As an Inventory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the movement of inventory from third-party cold storage facilities to the main warehouse, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained. You will also assist with inventory counts and investigate discrepancies to help maintain accurate inventory records.

• Coordinate inventory transfers from third-party cold storage facilities to the main warehouse.
• Manage par levels for frozen, pasteurized, and dry goods.
• Coordinate pickups and transportation with storage providers and carriers.
• Perform inventory counts for frozen, pasteurized, fresh, and dry goods.
• Maintain accurate inventory balances.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Assume ownership of dry goods inventory counts following training.
• Support management reporting.
• Prepare monthly inventory reports, including inventory aging reports.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
