Position: Unit Clerk for Long Term Care

NOW HIRING:
Unit Clerk – Long-Term Care - DAYS

  • Greet and assist residents, families, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and relay information to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain and update resident charts, medical records, and unit logs in accordance with facility policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge documentation.
  • Prepare, file, and distribute forms, reports, and schedules as needed.
  • Support nursing staff by transcribing physician orders and ensuring timely communication of updates.
  • Coordinate resident appointments and transportation when necessary.
  • Monitor inventory of unit supplies and submit requisitions to maintain adequate stock.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, staff assignments, and unit communications.
  • Uphold confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Provide administrative support to the Nurse Manager and clinical team as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous clerical/administrative experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff, residents, and families.
  • Compassionate, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a busy healthcare environment.
