Description:

Phillipsburg School District is seeking a dedicated, collaborative, and student-centered Preschool Special Education Teacher/In-Class Resource (ICR) Teacher to serve within our inclusive preschool program at the Early Childhood Learning Center. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide specialized instruction and support to preschool students with disabilities within an inclusive classroom environment while promoting developmentally appropriate practices and high-quality early childhood instruction.

The Preschool Special Education Teacher/ICR Teacher will collaborate closely with general education preschool teachers, related service providers, administrators, families, and support staff to implement individualized educational programs (IEPs), provide targeted interventions, and support students' academic, social-emotional, communication, behavioral, and developmental growth. The successful candidate will foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, independence, and school readiness skills.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) endorsement or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certificate.
• Valid New Jersey Preschool through Grade 3 (P-3) instructional certificate.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and early childhood instructional methodologies.
• Understanding of early childhood special education, inclusive practices, and differentiated instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to implement academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions within an inclusive classroom setting.
• Strong classroom management and positive behavioral support skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Required criminal history background check and compliance with all state employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with preschool-aged students with disabilities in inclusive early childhood settings.
• Knowledge of New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards and Creative Curriculum instructional practices.
• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Familiarity with evidence-based early childhood interventions, behavior supports, and social-emotional learning practices.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, including speech-language specialists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, behavior specialists, and support staff.
• Knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD, Pyramid Model practices, and inclusive preschool instructional strategies.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and utilize student data to inform instruction, interventions, and progress monitoring.
