Position DescriptionPhillipsburg Public Schools seeks a qualified Kindergarten Teacher for the Early Childhood Learning Center. The successful candidate will provide developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Kindergarten within a full-day Kindergarten program.
Responsibilities include implementing a research-based curriculum, supporting the academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of Kindergarten students, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment. The teacher will collaborate with administrators, coaches, related service providers, and families to promote student growth and student growth and success.
Required Qualifications- Valid NJ Elementary School Teacher (K-6) or Preschool through Grade 3 (P-3) Certification
- Knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Kindergarten and developmentally appropriate instructional practices
- Experience with Kindergarten curriculum and instructional practices
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with staff and families
- Criminal history background check required
- Experience with Kindergarten curriculum and instructional practices
- Familiarity with Kindergarten assessment practices and data-driven instruction
- Knowledge of Kindergarten intervention and referral processes
- Experience teaching Kindergarten or in an early childhood setting
- Ability to use assessment data to inform instruction
