Staff Accountant

Vaco Phoenix is working with a client in North Phoenix, AZ who needs a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. The Staff Accountant will act as a key member of the Finance team, responsible for the administration of general accounting duties including general ledger management and preparation of financial reports. • Balance sheet account analysis and accuracy of transactions affecting the general ledger, and various distribution journals (shop floor control, inventory control, accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer orders) in a manufacturing environment;
• Periodic financial statements and related schedules;
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of account analyses and reconciliations.
  • Timely preparation of journal entries and execution of the periodic closing process.
• Able to effectively compile selective historical data;
• Review and understanding of Periodic Company Sales and Bookings reports;
• Reconciliation of inventories held in-house and on consignment to others.
• Coordination with Payroll Administrator as required.
• Monthly bank statement reconciliations.
• Business sales and use tax reporting for periodic filing with state government agencies.
• Maintaining fixed assets and appropriations schedules in agreement with the general ledger as required.

• Bachelors of Accounting degree from an accredited university.
• Strong sense of ethics, integrity, and accountability.
• Accurate and organized.
• Knowledge of cost accounting functions with experience in a manufacturing environment considered beneficial.
