Vaco is actively seeking Accounting Consultants to support our clients with project-based initiatives and interim coverage during peak periods. This role requires a Senior Accountant-level skill set while remaining hands-on with daily accounting operations.
As a Vaco Consultant, you will apply your expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

You'll work with in tight deadlines, managing general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audits, and budget/forecast activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, fixed assets, payroll, and accruals
• Ensure general ledger accuracy, reviewing transactions for completeness and proper classification
• Assist with AP, AR, payroll, and cost accounting (if applicable)
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis
• Assist in year-end audit preparation, working closely with external auditors
• Research and apply technical accounting standards, including GAAP compliance

Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with expertise in month-end close and financial reporting
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
• Prior experience in public accounting or corporate accounting strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Proficiency in ERP systems
• Experience with reporting systems preferred
