Director of Accounting- Special Projects

The Keller Group is partnering with a stable, growing organization in Phoenix to identify a Director of Accounting
- Technical Accounting and Special Projects who is ready to step into a visible, high-impact leadership role. This is a unique opportunity for a technically excellent accountant who enjoys ownership, complexity and cross-functional collaboration without direct people management. Designed as an individual contributor role, this position emphasizes technical accounting, controls, close oversight, project management and special initiatives, including potential M&A integration support.

• Apply strong technical accounting expertise, including guidance on complex areas such as ASC 805.
• Evaluate, design, implement, and test internal controls to support a strong control environment.
• Review and validate accounting work prepared by others across multiple operating segments to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Manage the monthly close as a project, including maintaining close checklists and coordinating deliverables across cross-functional teams.
• Support special projects, including M&A integration initiatives, as applicable.
• Drive deadlines and accountability through effective project management.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CPA required
• Public accounting/audit background strongly preferred
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience
• Experience with internal controls, including evaluation, design, implementation and testing
• Demonstrated project management skills, particularly within close or integration environments
