Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations within a production‑driven environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, managing the accounting team, and partnering closely with operations to support manufacturing performance, costing, and overall profitability. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, hands‑on manufacturing experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, month‑end close, and preparation of financial statements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to ensure high‑quality, timely financial output.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance standards.
• Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to support cost accounting, inventory accuracy, production variance analysis, and operational decision‑making.
• Monitor and interpret key financial metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting packages.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Coordinate external audits and prepare required documentation.
• Support ERP usage and improvements, ensuring accurate financial and inventory data.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reports for senior leadership.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Prior experience in manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting and inventory management
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across finance and operations
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CMA certification
• Cost accounting experience in a high‑volume or multi‑site manufacturing environment
• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems
