The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations including month end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, cost accounting, and preparation of financial statements and reporting packages. This newly created role will report directly to the Controller and be instrumental with implementing best practices and continuing to build the accounting team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages the full-cycle month-end close and consolidation process, which includes foreign subsidiaries and general ledger oversight.
• Performs technical accounting research, prepares memos, and leads the adoption of new accounting pronouncements to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Streamlines financial reporting systems and processes by proactively finding solutions, creating best practices, and developing financial policies and procedures.
• Analyzes and reconciles complex accounts, including intercompany transactions, and supports annual financial statement audits.
• Mentors and supervises accounting staff while handling various ad-hoc projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related field
• 4+ years of supervisory experience (overseeing daily accounting operations, month end close, preparation of financial statements and reporting packages)
• 7+ years of overall accounting experience preferably with a combination of public accounting and industry accounting
• CPA not required but is preferred
• Prior manufacturing industry experience preferred with understanding of cost accounting principles
