Accounting Specialist

Location:

Phoenix, AZ Salary: $52k - $72k

Our client, a highly respected professional services firm, is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support their Phoenix office. This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative accounting team within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Process accounts payable and employee expense reimbursements
  • Serve as a key accounting resource supporting office operations and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with the preparation and review of client billing activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Respond to inquiries from internal team members, vendors, and clients regarding accounting matters
  • Help ensure compliance with internal billing and accounting procedures
  • Manage accounting-related email requests and respond within established service timelines
  • Maintain accounting reports, spreadsheets, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with tracking and payment of tax-related liabilities
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and vendor deposit reconciliations
  • Support special projects, financial analysis, and additional accounting initiatives as assigned
  • Provide backup support to other accounting team members as needed

What you'll need:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Minimum of 2 years of general accounting, payroll, or related accounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Experience working with accounting and billing software strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid numeric, analytical, and organizational abilities
