Assistant Controller

Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to help lead a dynamic accounting function within a multi-entity organization. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to drive financial operations, support strategic growth initiatives, lead a talented team, and partner closely with executive leadership.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with strong technical accounting expertise, a process‑improvement mindset, and experience navigating complex accounting environments, including leases, acquisitions, and systems implementations.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes to ensure accurate and timely GAAP‑compliant financial reporting
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, inventory accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Review financial results, investigate variances, and ensure the integrity of financial data
• Strengthen and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Manage lease accounting activities under ASC 842, including ROU assets, liabilities, and disclosures
• Partner on mergers and acquisitions, including purchase accounting and post‑acquisition integration efforts
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and lead the annual audit process
• Drive ERP implementations, system conversions, and accounting process improvements
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to enhance reporting, scalability, and overall business performance
• Develop and mentor accounting team members while fostering a high‑performance culture
• Support the organization through growth, transformation, and strategic initiatives

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA strongly preferred; MBA is a plus
• 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
• Background within multi‑entity organizations required
• Private equity‑backed company experience and M&A exposure highly preferred
• Experience leading or supporting ERP implementations and system conversions
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Service Titan, or comparable ERP platforms preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
