Overview
Staff Accountant position at Transdev, Phoenix, AZ (Tempe). Responsible for supply procurement oversight, financial analysis, and month‑end reports within the TAS division as part of autonomous vehicle operations rollout.
Key Responsibilities- Procurement & Vendor Management
- Oversee supply procurement for TAS
- Purchase, bill coding, and invoice management
- Create and oversee pre‑authorized purchase orders
- Manage overall spend and inventory
- Maintain facility records and update as needed
- Manage vendor relationships, onboarding, and identification of new vendors and facilities
- Renew contracts and maintain files on client and vendor contracts, warranties, insurance policies, etc.
- Accounts Payable
- Research and resolve AP billing issues
- Review vendors’ bills for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare monthly report reconciling AP invoices with client billings and support documentation
- Reconcile spend on company‑owned accounts and submit reports for approval
- Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and review client billings and required supporting documentation
- Ensure client billings are issued timely and accurately
- Monitor AR aging and assist with AR cash application questions
- Finance / Payroll
- Assist as backup for payroll tasks including cutting checks, processing payroll, and resolving payroll issues
- Present payroll and invoice related analytics for month‑end reporting
- Prepare month‑end revenue and expense accruals
- Collaborate with stakeholders on operational budgets
- Other Tasks
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity and efficiency
- Adhere to and ensure all company policies are followed
- Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety
- Conduct ad‑hoc analysis and perform additional duties as needed
Education and Experience
- 21 years of age or older
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting plus 2-3 years of industry experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, general accounting, cost controls, and accrual accounting
- Ability to understand complex billing and job costing concepts
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel; ability to create complex spreadsheets
- Knowledge of an automated accounting system (J.D. Edwards System)
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting is a plus
- Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (Gmail, Hangouts, Drive including Sheets and Docs)
- Good attention to detail
- Adapt quickly to new and developing technology
- Strong cross‑functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
- Good analytical and critical thinking
- Self‑motivated with good judgment in ambiguous environments
- Travel up to 30% of the time
- Occasional standing, walking, and sitting; long periods of sitting
- Occasional reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally lift or move up to 45 pounds
- Work is largely performed indoors
- All employees must satisfactorily complete a pre‑employment drug screen and background check
- Safety Sensitive Positions may be subject to a physical screening

- Salary: $66,560 – $87,360 annually
