Description
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll Analyst to join our team in our Phoenix, AZ office. This onsite position is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of weekly multi‑state payroll while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to delivering exceptional service while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the processing of weekly payroll for a multi‑state workforce.
- Review payroll data for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and direct deposits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist with multi‑state payroll tax compliance, including state unemployment (SUI) account maintenance, state and local tax registrations, payroll tax setup, and coordination of tax account updates as business needs change.
- Process wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other involuntary deductions.
- Import and reconcile HSA contributions and other payroll‑related benefit deductions.
- Support benefits administration and payroll integration through Employee Navigator.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure data integrity.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax questions, and employee payroll inquiries.
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, quarter‑end and year‑end payroll activities, including W‑2 processing.
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with payroll analytics as needed.
- Partner with Human Resources and Finance to ensure employee data is accurate and up to date.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and maintain compliance with changing payroll laws and regulations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll and personal information.
- Perform other payroll‑related duties as assigned.

- Minimum of two (2) years of payroll experience, preferably processing multi‑state payroll.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and payroll compliance.
- Experience processing wage garnishments and other involuntary deductions.
- Experience with HSA payroll imports and benefit deductions preferred.
- Experience with payroll reporting, reconciliations, quarter‑end/year‑end payroll processing, and audits preferred.
- Experience with Paylocity payroll software and Employee Navigator is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
