Detail-oriented and highly organized, the full-time remote Payroll Operations Manager will lead end-to-end payroll operations for the firm and its clients, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing while managing payroll platforms and supporting multi-state compliance.
Key responsibilities- Own full-cycle U.S. and international payroll processing across multiple clients
- Serve as the internal payroll subject matter expert, collaborating with HR and Accounting/Finance teams
- Manage payroll compliance, tax filings, and year-end reporting, including W-2s and 1099s
- 5+ years of U.S. payroll experience, including multi-state payroll
- Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, wage laws, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll systems such as Gusto, Justworks, or similar
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups and pivots
- Proven experience with payroll reconciliations and audit support
