We are currently seeking a Project Accountant for our Phoenix, AZ office focusing on water and transportation projects. - Reviews and processes subcontracts, subcontract change orders and performance and payment bonds to ensure they are in compliance with specified terms.
- Collects and reviews project subcontractor/supplier lien waivers.
- Collects, reviews, and processes subcontractor/supplier monthly project invoices, ensuring all invoices are accrued properly and timely to the correct cost reports and phase codes.
- Ensures proper payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers.
- Has a strong understanding of the Walsh monthly P&L process, ensuring timely submittal of project P&Ls and reviewing the P&Ls for accuracy.
- Processes cost transfers on project cost report for Project Management staff.
- Provides monthly assistance to Project Management staff in the preparation of monthly billings to project owners, including in-depth analysis of owner billing when applicable.
- Collects, reviews and submits monthly owner billings to the Senior Project Accountant II for processing.
- Monitors cash flow and communicates with project staff on tracking accounts receivable and project payments.
- Works independently and travels to job sites to perform regular cost report reviews.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or business-related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of construction accounting experience.

Salary range:
The base pay depends on training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The role may also be eligible for a bonus and other benefits.
