Job SummaryAs an Accountant III, you will play a crucial role in analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial activities. Your expertise will contribute to the preparation of CMDP audited financial statements and supplementary schedules, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and GASB standards. You will also conduct quarterly revenue and expenditure reconciliations, providing valuable insights to various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare CMDP audited financial statements and supplementary schedules.
- Create account analysis schedules with variance explanations and footnotes.
- Perform account, revenue, and expense analysis and update trending reports.
- Assist with yearly financial statement audits and conduct quarterly reconciliations.
- Utilize automated accounting systems to track revenues, expenditures, and contract status.
- Perform month-end closing and prepare financial reports.
- Analyze accounting records for accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Develop dashboards and update KPI metrics.
- Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and recommend solutions.
- Advise management on resource utilization and budget forecasts.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining complex Excel worksheets.
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on workload.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience with government accounting and GAAP standards.
- Familiarity with automated financial systems and Access database queries.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze financial data.
