Salary Range: $100K - $135K/Annum plus benefits

Job Description:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Tax Manager to join an established accounting and professional services team. This position will oversee a diverse portfolio of tax engagements and provide tax compliance, planning, advisory, and client-service support.

The Tax Manager will work closely with clients and internal professionals, provide technical leadership to the tax team, and help ensure engagements are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee the preparation, review, and completion of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and various entity structures.
  • Manage multiple tax engagements simultaneously while maintaining high standards for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
  • Review complex tax matters and identify appropriate planning opportunities based on applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Conduct tax research and evaluate the potential impact of regulatory and legislative changes on client situations.
  • Develop practical recommendations and communicate tax-related findings clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for assigned clients and maintain strong, long-term professional relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with accounting and tax professionals to resolve technical issues and address engagement-related matters.
  • Review work prepared by tax staff and provide constructive feedback to improve quality and technical proficiency.
  • Assign and delegate responsibilities to team members based on engagement requirements, experience, and workload.
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level tax professionals through coaching, training, and ongoing guidance.
  • Assist with engagement planning, budgeting, scheduling and billing activities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client services and contribute to business development initiatives.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation, IRS guidance, regulations, and industry practices to maintain current technical knowledge.
  • Participate in professional networking, continuing education, training programs, and other activities that support professional growth.
  • Contribute to process improvements and initiatives designed to enhance the efficiency and quality of tax services.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential.
  • 5–7 years of progressive tax experience, preferably in public accounting or a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax compliance requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of tax accounting principles and applicable IRS rules and regulations.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and addressing technical tax issues.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret and apply tax regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
