The Neighborhood Services Department's (NSD) mission is to preserve, enhance and engage Phoenix neighborhoods. At its core, NSD solves neighborhood problems to maintain healthy and safe neighborhoods and to foster a sense of community and local pride.
The Neighborhood Services Department is currently seeking an Account Clerk III, which is responsible for performing payroll type activities, including the accurate processing and review of payroll data and records. The Account Clerk III is also responsible for the accurate processing of shopping carts, goods receipts, invoices, and reports. The Account Clerk III reports directly to the Accountant II.
Duties may include:
* Enters, compiles, and reviews human resources forms and payroll data.
* Creates, updates, and maintains clerical, statistical, and human resources and payroll records.
* Prepares regular and special reports from human resources and payroll records.
* Reads, interprets, and explains technical material such as Personnel Payroll Rules.
* Performs arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and statistics.
* Create and maintain shopping carts for the Department.
* Researches, prepares, and processes Payment Control Documents.
* Creates and maintain sales orders for the Department.
* Prepares various financial related reports and records.
* Responds to inquiries and requests for information from vendors, other City departments, and customers.
Incumbents may be assigned special research projects, computer data entry, answering questions from customers and internal departments. The Account Clerk III will have the ability to continuously improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. The successful candidate will have well developed competencies in complex decision making, effective communication, personal and interpersonal skills, and managing deadlines.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
* Knowledge of principles and techniques of payroll administration and governmental organization.
SALARY
Pay Range: $21.02 to $31.06 per hour.
Hiring Range: $21.02 to $25.56 per hour.

Internal Only:
Please understand that this is pay grade 738. If selected, your salary offer will be based on the applicable promotion or demotion worksheet in accordance with the City Pay Ordinance.
* Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase.
* Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease.
* Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade.
* When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to your classification or unit.
