Position: Administrative Aide (Contracts & Services Division) - Aviation Department
ABOUT THIS POSITION

Over 52 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2025, one of the busiest airports in the country and in the nation's 5th largest city. Sky Harbor is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports) which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an economic impact over $44 billion annually.

The Aviation Department has a vacancy for an Administrative Aide position. This position is in the Contracts and Services (C&S) Division and will undertake a broad set of administrative tasks to support the functional areas of contract administration services, special services, and special projects. The Administrative Aide will provide professional-level administrative, operational and policy support to the C&S Division. Some work will include highly sensitive and/or confidential matters.

This position will require the use independent judgment, tact, and discretion for successful performance.

The essential or major duties of this position are:

* Prioritizes and determines importance and appropriate action.

* Assists in the development of operational policies and procedures.

* Evaluates and responds to requests for information, meetings, and other materials in person, by telephone and in writing.

* Builds and sustains collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including City executives. Professional diplomacy is a must.

* Identifies and demonstrates a continuous effort to improve division and administrative operations to increase efficiency, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.

SALARY

Pay Range: $23.74 to $35.08 per hour.

Hiring Range: $23.74 to $33.41 per hour.

* Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.

* Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.

Internal Only:
Please understand that this is pay grade 043. If selected, your salary offer will be based on the applicable promotion or demotion worksheet in accordance with the City Pay Ordinance.

* Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase.

* Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease.

* Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade.

* When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to your classification or unit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Four years of experience performing clerical duties.

* OR Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.

* Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted
