The Contracts Administrator Intern is responsible for learning how to assist with preparing, reviewing, and tracking construction‑related contracts. This role provides exposure to contract compliance requirements, contract management systems, and basic contract risk review within the construction industry.
Responsibilities- Learn how contract risks are identified and mitigated.
- Support the contract lifecycle process by tracking approvals, modifications, and renewals within the contract management system.
- Assist with reviewing contract terms and identifying potential risks or concerns. Help support teams with contract documentation and compliance-related tasks during project execution.
- Support teams in interpreting contract requirements and ensuring compliance throughout project execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field of study.
- Some basic understanding of construction contracts.
- Basic understanding of contract negotiation, procurement, and purchasing systems.
- Basic understanding of Contract Management Systems.
- Basic understanding of Adobe Professional.
- Some customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to multi-task and basic decision-making skills.
- Self-starter who takes responsibility and achieves results.
- Proficient in using MS Office Suite.
- 1+ years of experience with construction contracts.
- Some experience in contract negotiation, procurement, and purchasing systems.
- Some experience in Adobe Professional.
- Ability to work effectively, meet deadlines, and shift priorities appropriately in a fast paced, dynamic work environment with great attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and build positive working relationships.
- Understanding of contracting and procurement terminology, measures, concepts, principles and strategies.
Must be able to effectively communicate (see, hear, speak and write clearly) to communicate with colleagues and/or customers; manual dexterity for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment.
Working ConditionsThe office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate.
Additional Information- Working Hours: This position generally works Monday–Friday, overtime and on call when necessary.
