Position: Graduate Assistant Administrative Support Advancement

Graduate Assistant Administrative Assistant

Grand Canyon University (GCU) — a private, non‑denominational Christian university located in Phoenix, Arizona — is seeking a Graduate Assistant Administrative Assistant to support its Development team in a dynamic, startup‑style environment.

What you will do Admin Support
  • Manage complex calendars, scheduling, and executive priorities
  • Prepare briefing documents, donor profiles, and meeting materials
  • Coordinate travel logistics and event schedules
  • Track follow‑ups, action items, and deliverables
Development Operations
  • Support planning and execution of donor events (VIP experiences, galas, athletic hospitality, private dinners)
  • Coordinate logistics with campus partners (athletics, facilities, marketing, catering, etc.)
  • Assist with stewardship execution and donor engagement tracking
  • Maintain organized documentation within project management systems
  • Support budget tracking and operational workflows
Event Execution
  • Assist with on‑site event production and white‑glove donor hospitality
  • Oversee check‑in processes, vendor coordination, and day‑of logistics
  • Anticipate needs before they arise
Represent Development
  • Represent Development with professionalism and warmth
What you will need
  • Admitted to a graduate‑degree seeking program at GCU (certificate programs not eligible)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0, which must be maintained during employment
  • At least 6 graduate‑level units enrolled as a “regular” degree‑seeking student (undergraduate or audited courses not eligible)
  • Compliance with the University’s Student Code of Conduct
  • Acceptance of HR employment workflow processes and pre‑employment background checks
  • Restricted work hours (maximum 29 hours per week); upon completion of degree requirements, the assistantship ceases
Employment details
  • Graduate Assistants are eligible for tuition waiver during the period employed; waiver may be taxable income
  • Graduate Assistants are part‑time employees and are not eligible for GCU’s employment benefits, except those stipulated by law
