The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) is seeking an Administrative Assistant 3 to provide necessary administrative support to education leadership. This position’s role will ensure accurate and organized communication to stakeholders in the agency and the community. This position assists in monitoring the education bureau’s deadlines with the state and schedules meetings as requested. In addition, this person maintains accurate education records and efficiency in the education office.
Additional duties include procurement support and contact with the public and other governmental agencies.
- Performs a variety of complex administrative tasks for an executive and/or administrator including but not limited to research, preparing well written correspondences, special projects and coordinating activities for the Education Bureau.
- Monitor and maintain accurate student records to include but not limited to special education records and daily student attendance in accordance with federal and state rules and regulations.
- Generate educational data reports required by the agency and department of education.
- Coordinates and maintains calendar(s), schedules meetings and appointments.
- Maintaining electronic and hard copy files and records.
- Answering telephones and general office coverage.
- Prepare/update school calendar, charts, and the student information system.
- Communicate with outside stakeholders to obtain necessary educational documents and disseminate information from educational administration to the teaching staff and stakeholders.
- Order and track education supplies as directed by education administration through the procurement system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Two (2) years of responsible administrative experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited college or university.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish/English preferred but not required.
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function on the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class‑appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license records checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or suspended.
