Aboutthe Role
We are currently seeking a mailroom clerk to receive and sort mail and then disseminate it to the right individual or department. This role is responsible for ensuring that they keep records of mailings that they receive. You will also perform clerical tasks such as data entry and filing.
What You’ll Do- Sort mail according to destination and type, such as returned letters, adjustments, bills, orders, and payments.
- Ensure delivery of outgoing mail to courier or post office.
- Examine outgoing mail for any irregularities and seal envelopes by hand or machine.
- Count and record inventory items.
- Assist in filing and archiving documents.
- Perform data entry activities.
- Maintain adequate mailroom supplies.
- Complete and post shipping labels on packages.
- Arrange for courier services to deliver packages.
- Record postage meter readings daily.
- Purchase postage and ensure postage supply.
- Basic mathematical skills are often required to perform adding and subtracting functions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Mailroom clerks need to work fast to sort volumes of mail.
- Ability to spend much of their day on their feet, and ability to deliver large boxes of mail or heavy packages up to 50 lbs.
- Should be detail oriented and efficient.
