The Office of U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego is now accepting applications for internship opportunities in both our Phoenix and Tucson offices for the upcoming 2026 Fall term. Interns will be expected to work in-person, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate students’ availability and interns will receive a stipend for their work.
The internship term will begin in August and conclude in December 2026. Interns will have the opportunity to assist our casework team in addressing constituents' inquiries about federal agencies, support our outreach team at community events, help with administrative duties such as front desk coverage and answering phones, and gain valuable experience by engaging with the communications teams.
Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for contributing to a team-oriented environment. Applicants with ties to Arizona are especially encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, any writing sample of their choice (no more than two pages), and three professional references to ate.gov by July 10th, 2026. Be sure to include in the subject line: "Your Last Name, First Name – Phoenix/Tucson Internship Application." Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; all candidates are encouraged to apply early.
The Office of Senator Gallego is an equal employment opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, age, uniformed service, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
