Job DescriptionThe job of Attendance Clerk II is to direct the daily activities of the attendance office, ensure accurate attendance accounting within the District, and convey attendance related information to appropriate parties.
This job reports to the Building Administrator.
Essential Functions- Communicate with parents and/or guardians regarding student absences, discipline/behavior matters, appointments, etc., to meet district administrative requirements and mandated guidelines.
- Input data into commercial and custom databases (attendance and enrollment, Gold Card progressive discipline, Dean's calendar, etc.) to ensure data accuracy.
- Maintain the automated student attendance system to ensure accurate tracking and documentation of student attendance and enrollment.
- Oversee student attendance related matters (early dismissals, late arrivals, etc.) to provide information and directions within established guidelines.
- Prepare reports and written materials (state attendance reports, in‑school suspensions, after‑school detention reports, tutoring lists, substitute attendance, etc.) to convey information regarding school and/or district activities and procedures.
- Research discrepancies of attendance information and/or documentation to ensure accuracy of attendance data.
- Respond to questions from staff, parents, other schools, and students to provide information and/or directions as required.
- Supervise assigned personnel (Attendance Clerk I, student aides, etc.) to enhance productivity of staff and achieve department outcomes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Typical physical demands include some lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. The job requires approximately 85% sitting, 10% walking, and 5% standing. The environment is generally hazard‑free.
ExperienceJob‑related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.

Mathematics, Filing, Spelling, and Typing
- Criminal Background Clearance
- Valid Arizona DPS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
